“From the Covington furnace iron has been shipped far and near, and some of the best known manufacturers of machinery in the United States use very extensively the product of the Covington plant. A large part of the iron manufactured in this furnace is consumed by local industries, the Covington Machine Company using hundreds of tons of pig iron a year.”
