William Crapo Durant, founder of General Motors, was quoted in “Modern Mechanics and Inventions” May, 1930 edition as saying, “I do not hesitate to state that I see a great future in the rayon industry. Personally, I supervised the building of the new plant of the Industrial Rayon corporation at Covington, Virginia.”
